It would have been nice to have a jacket, but nonetheless I ventured out in Rye this morning to see the surf churned up by the former tropical storm lurking offshore. Fortunately, the rain was light, and my camera and I only got minimally damp. Although the tide was not high, the intensity of the waves was still impressive. People familiar with Rye's rocky shoreline will recognize the collection of little cairns constructed on the rocks. I can't imagine that they will remain standing after the next high tide!
